That's so cute! What a great working relationship you two have. You have really good, deliberate, consistent handling technique. I love Chara's attentive heeling. Really great job!

@snika811 The sneezing in this vid was really more of a blooper. Some dogs sneeze when they get excited like she was. You could capture this if you have a dog that often sneezes during play or some (other predictable time). You'd just hype him up and click & treat each time he sneezes (I'd keep the training sessions under 3 minutes a few times a day). It wouldn't take long for the dog to start offering it on purpose and then you could shape the final behavior you want and add a cue to it. (p.1)

How the hell did you teach him to sneeze?

@snika811 Some dogs sneeze after greeting people, before going outside, after intense sniffing, etc. If you identify a trigger you can predict (or recreate), you'll be able to capture (or lure) it fairly quickly. I'm sure you could free shape it as well (with many of short sessions), but it would take some planning, skill, and patience. You'd use very small increments something like: click for normal exhaling, slowly increase intensity, work up to a sigh, blowing, & eventually a sneeze. (p.2)

@snika811 It would be a cute trick & fun to train & especially useful for a dog doing any acting work. It's always a good idea to keep training sessions short, but especially for anything involving the nose/ scent. Since dogs have very sensitive noses, you wouldn't want to risk making your dog uncomfortable or do anything that might irritate his nose. FYI, dogs also sneeze out of nervousness... keep the training fun and positive, anxiety would indicate you've moved too fast. (p. 3/4)

Thanks for watching! And happy training if you decide to try teaching a sneeze. I wouldn't be surprised if Emily @kikopup has a video on this (I have her linked on my page). She is amazing at shaping off the wall things like this.
