As seen in the intro, this video is dedicated to Link- the pet hedgehog of a dear friend of mine. Hope you like it, buddy. ;)

This video chronicles a series that began with the game that started it all for me: The Legend of Zelda. Despite having an Atari and previously enjoying Super Mario Bros. on the NES, it was the original Zelda that broke the fourth wall for me. It showed that gaming wasn't just a rainy day activity, but for some it was their bread and butter. From then on, I became fixated with the industry until I reached the point I'm at today: a freelance reviewer.

The chronological order of the Zelda series has always been one of heated debate, and one that, despite having my own theories, I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. I tried to include footage of at least every major mainstream Zelda release, with the obvious exception of the forthcoming Phantom Hourglass sequel entitled "The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks" (I tried, but the trailer footage would've had to be zoomed to ignore the DSi frame and looked out of place). Here's a list of what's included:

The Legend of Zelda (NES)
Zelda II: The Adventures of Link (NES)
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
The Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Ages (GBC)
The Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Seasons (GBC)
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64)
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC)
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC/Wii)
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS)

  • Very good champz =)

But I would only suggest that, in the Smash Bros part, you showed the Super Smash Bros (N64) and in SSB Melee, Link using the Smash on Ganondorf.

About the rest of the vid, really good edition, and song choice.

    Thumbs really up.

  • @Brianzin The decision to pick the choice of using his attack on Mario from the Brawl trailer stems from two reasons: 1. Finding quality, non-watermarked footage from N64 and GameCube games is almost impossible; and 2. I wanted it to fit with the uptempo of the music and paired with the clip that followed of him 'killing' Ganon in Ocarina of Time. There were thoughts of ending it with a silly HD clip of Toon Link fighting Adult Link, but I felt it missed the beat. Thanks though! :)

  • Awesome video and great song choice. I would suggest showing some of his Smash Bros. and Soul Cal. II moments as well, but that's just me. Thumbs up video, for sure.

  • @Edgegamer88 Thanks! Sadly, finding video clips from last generation (Xbox, PS2, GameCube) that could remotely be used are very hard to come by. In fact, the clips in the video for Wind Waker came from an HD retrospective video- which restored the clips to a usable state. This is also why my Mario video is absent of Super Mario Sunshine footage. So unfortunately, while having clips of him in SC2 would've been amazing, they could not come to be.

  • Bitchin.

  • I loved it, but i kinda felt that some clips were random, and didn't really go along with the flow of the song, but overall it was still very great.

  • Hahaha XD Biggoron came in all random! I love this fucking vid! Amazing Job!! :D

  • i think i know how many links their are one in skyward sword two saved by the great deku tree, and got the master sword and the one link was spit in two which made a 3rd one from the timelines, the 4th link traveled back in time in 100 yrs ago to put a stop from the evil plogs beging and thats when ganon got killed in the for head by toon links sword, and plus four swords all links unknighted i think i got something wrong its like hard math xD
