Response to McD's video on Youtube

After the complaint to McD's and the video on youtube I received a call from McD's PR that she wanted to meet with us (myself and passenger) to discuss what happened and how McD's would resolve it. Day of meeting the owner of that McDonalds in St. Charles calls and says she told PR to cancel the meeting and she was sorry what happened to us. She said she showed the video to every employee at that McDonalds and had a meeting with them about what they did wrong, that it was not their policy to call police and that when this has happened before they simply passed food out the back drive-thru window. She then said she was going to mail us some gifts. Few days later we received a $25 American Express Debit card and a few of the beanie babies McDonald's was giving out awhile ago in Happy Meals.

While I appreciate the apology, we really liked the idea of sitting down and talking with someone from McDonald's about their policies and what could have been done differently. Instead it feels like they just tried to buy us off with $25 and beanie babies.

i would bet 1000000 cheeseburgers that every maccas manager and franchise owner has a template of that exact letter, with the blanks being "McDonald's, *blank*, Inc." - "apologize for the *blank* you encountered when you visited the *blank* restaurant" - "Sincerely, *Blank blank blank*." ... I hope the McCIA doesn't find me and kill me, i reckon i'm spot on the money

I have never been to McDonalds in about 10 years, and I think that was the best choice I ever made in years.

Every fast food place is run the same when it comes to service and quality. You also have to take into account that fast food places employ young adults the majority of the time. As for what is done to the food, well any food place from fast food to fancy restaurant there's always a chance someone has added their own person touch to the food. I still gross my nieces and nephews out with the stories of things my coworkers used to do.

I had something like this with Advanced Auto. Their District manager called and talked about the situation for about 10 minutes. He really awesome and made everything right!
