Dream of Death

this is a poem that i wrote, based on a recurring dream that i have. i used the instrumental song "Night Chill" by Samhain for background music. i really love the song but felt badly using it because i don't think my poetry is worthy of being paired with Glenn Danzig's music.

WTF are you talking about? We are just talking about writing a poem. Trust me writers have their "Own Style"! Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allen Poe do not write the same and so I don't either. Neither wil another writer who is true to their art. Just like musicians. You can hand them a guitar and they will sound different. It's just a part of being creative. I think you must have a crappy life to get on YT putting everyone down. All negative so I bet your life does suck!! Please go away! Haha

are you implying that anyone who likes this poem is only doing so to be nice? that everyone holds YOUR opinion but is too nice to say so? is your "reality" one in which art forms are either wrong or right, good or bad, as if everyone could agree on such a thing? it is one thing to express your opinion that you don't like someone's work, but it is very arrogant to tell others that their opinions are wrong or false. opinions are a matter of personal taste.

Your friends poem is simply bad, the mistake here is to concede to our initial reaction--mind you this reaction is not innately human but has instead been the result of a failing society bent on feeling good--that wants to validate everything and everyone.

There is absolutely a wrong and right way to WRITE (not right) a poem. Claiming everyone has their 'own style' is a worthy observation but in no way reflects the reality we call life. In life there is a loser and a winner, a better and a worse, everything cannot be equal.
