The Medical Reserve Corps of Volusia County was invited to participate in an Emergency Training Exercise at the Daytona Beach Airport. Operations section of the Daytona Beach International Airport and Emergency Management facilitated a simulated aircraft incident and disaster response exercise. Members from federal, state and local fire, law enforcement and other support organizations also participated in the Triennial Disaster Drill.
Our volunteers were able to boost the efforts in learning how to better respond to any given event at the airport and Red Cross response in dealing with the community during an emergency.
The exercise and the participation of the MRC was a successful demonstration of handling volunteers and the community that respond to the airport during an emergency and how they effectively communicate with the public.

  • @bmxstunner01

The purpose behind the training was to practice and find out what we can do better to respond to an emergency situation, this was a simulated airplane crash, no shooters or IEDS, just a bunch of cheerleaders, but thanks for your opinion.
