Sociology focuses on practicing cultural relativiism . Cultural relativism frees us from a cramped view of society.

i am majoring in sociology because i've been impacted by macro forces from society. i am gay and my family has disowned me besides their religious beliefs i cannot understand their prejudice against me, it's from an outside force. why do we live in a hetero-sexist society, that won't let me marry someone i am deeply in love with? i like sociology because these questions always intrigue me i love to people watch and try to figure out why people are that way.

The primary focus is a case study conducted by Professor D'Andrea of a student veteran at Montgomery College who experienced war culture shock in Iraq, and his difficult adjustment back to society and college life. Sociologists call this major change in one's  master status resocialization. The Post 9/11 GI Bill does help student veterans adjust to college life. The Veterans Club at Montgomery College provides a place where student/veterans can socially interact.

In this video there are several examples of a metalogue. Sociology explains individual behavior by focusing on external influences. This is a social metalogue! The Sociological Imagination is the intersection of society and the individual.

A Case study of a student/veteran who was an enlisted army soldier who drove a military truck. His military truck just missed an I.E.D which exploded resulting in a very loud noise that literallly "shocked" this soldier. This shock has stayed with him for several years.
