Cracked.

@Bonius99- Europe, especially England, was Bret's territory, even when he turned heel in 1997. His fan base was so huge internationally.

yeah I loved Bret, he was a solid wrestler and didn't mess around, you knew you'd get a great match. Plus I was a sucker for his style, he looked fit without ridiculous muscles and stood out back when everyone had eye-catching colour co-ordination of some sort (made the difference back then :P)

@TurgeonFan77132 The thing about Bret is that people always stress the fact that when Bret turned heel he developed an anti American stance. Often in America they focused on the dynamic that his heel turn made him popular in Europe/UK/Canada. However, Bret Hart was massively popular in other parts of the world long before he turned heel. I can't think of any other American wrestler who while he was a mid card performer became so popular in foreign countries.

@LadyLaconte Specifically, that particular match (the one where Hart breaks his sternum) happened on October 29, 1989. This match seen here happened nineteen days earlier.
