Here are those shoulder fired Igla anti-aircraft missiles. They aren't SAM-7s. They're Iglas. The silver one is labeled 'Mock Up'. These get repurposed by the Libyan rebels (emptied out and the tubes used to fire FFAR rockets) later on. All of this will make a lot more sense when I can do an in-order upload.

We also find a bunch of other soviet crap that I don't know what the fuck. If you're good at identifying military hardware, your comments will get voted up.

If you're wondering what we did with the Iglas Dr. Tameem and the rest of us collected from that site? Turned them over, along with GPS coordinates, to the nearest military representative from the NTC.

It's just more dramatic if you can unveil a bunch of Iglas, during a time when everybody is hunting for those dreaded missing manpads, and go "BEHOLD! I HAVE CONQUERED THE MANPADS THREAT!" rather than just present the person with a verbal report they may or may not believe or investigate.

The US govt. would pay around $5-10k a piece for the SA-16 missiles, even without the gripstocks and battery coolant units, just to keep them out of reach of terrorists.

Wish I had found them. Pay day!

Scary thing about the video is all the empty boxes. This is a disaster waiting to happen and the Obama admin is partly responsible for it.

Without the cooling\firing block+target acquisition panel they are harmless. And if the seeker moves- the battery will eventually run out of power.Also, they are way too old. Even in Chechnya terrorists had to fire 5-7 of them simultaneously to shoot down old 70s made helicopters. Just some junk. People will be taking it for gold\platinum\silver from the seekers.
