Now, when ever I see Bob Crosby, I chuckle because I immediately think of that story told by Lester Young. It seems that he was arrested somewhere out west for marijuana possession by a cop that he swears looked just like Bob Crosby. From then on he always sized up a club when he entered and could always spot the undercover cop. He'd then tap his buddies on the shoulder and say" Bob Crosby is in the house tonight." If there was more than one he'd say "And his brother Bing is here too."

everyone sucks but Louis Armstrong.

This is blatantly Jim Crow, but Louis is so amazing who cares!! I remember my mother and her friends on holidays would sing around the piano. I think that was a psychology of culture that just does not exist today.

Wonderful! Thankyou, TheJazzStreet.

Bob Crosby was a band-leader, also the brother of Bing. And yes, Jaye P Morgan sits next to Hoagy. The other lady is Anita O'Day.
