@shawnielee1976 India is a country full of resources, beautiful too but the politics and religion won´t let poverty end.So many things could be done but it´s an enormous country so so many problems, its a shame. Some leave too well and other don´t even have the basics. I feel so sorry for this its not fair wake up world india politicians people with material resources and influence take care of you own people, change laws do it birth control ...

@maxxbad17 I think an Indian charity could make better use of the "NRI" (Non-resident Indian) population as well as the Indian middle class, the government would have to provide more schemes to improve housing. The problem is so wast. (But I agree greed definitely does not help)

I see where you r coming from, but I think a bigger problem is it is very difficult for individuals to make significant change, even when they really want to. There r not enough charities helping slums. There r few reliable groups or "councils" to donate to. Locally rich ppl can arrange to help local slum community and many do, as a temporary solution. Its still almost impossible for an Indian middle class member to actually help change slum living conditions, even if they want to.
