i remember watching this live. and i knew that once he hit that ball, something big was gonna happen..and i remember seeing the ball bang right off the sign and i went batshit haha. i love howard even though he strikes out alot..but when he gets in a good groove, you don't want to pitch anything to him. he's a power hitting beast. GO PHILLIES AND WIN THIS YEARS DERBY HOWARD!!
I go to so many pirate games cause no one goes, always can walk up and buy tickets, it is such a damn shame that our stadium is so beautiful and the team is horrible.
for those of you saying Howard is not a great player and he strikes out a lot, you need to watch games consistently. If not for the shift, Howard would have nearly one extra base hit just about every 2 games. Other players are able to avoid hitting into this shift because their reputation does not proceed them as Howard's does.
I was there for this. I sat in the upper level along the 3rd base line and had a great view of HR's. The reason everyone starts cheering louder at 7 secs in is because he not only won the derby on that HR, but he also hit the prize sign like it says in the videos description box. If you turn up the volume and listen carefully even though you can't see it happen in this video you'll hear it hit the vinyl sign hung between the 1st and 2nd towers to the left of the pepsi bottle sign. It was epic!
