This was filmed the night before Jono and I crashed Lance O'Sullivans TV show in Kaitaia. We were guests on his show the week before and felt quite overdressed in our dress shirts as Dr O'Sullivan was just wearing his cycling lycra! So we decided to pay him a visit the following week
Jono and i started watchin the show at home just to make sure Dr O'Sullivan was on. He started off by saying that he had no guests on the show . So jono and i jumped in the car and headed off for the studio, walked up the 3 flights of stairs and straight into the studio where Dr O'Sullivan was filming - I was holding my box of veges with the sign on it and jono had his guitar. Lance looked at us for a brief second and then looked back at the camera, started grinning but with great composure managed to finish his sentence about racial predudice or some real important topic.
Lance then said "well people, it looks like we have a cuople of guests with us this morning" and with that we walked on set, put our box down on the coffee table and went from there :)

Intro - spoken:
Good morning Kaitaia
This is Jonathan Henry,
My Name is Alistair Papali'i-Curtin
We are both 5th year medical students working with Dr Lance O'Sullivan
Lance has been so amazing, so inspirational,
That we penned the following lyrics, put it to music
and called it "The Lance O'Sullivan Song"
Chorus:
Lance O'Sullivan we love you, yea we love you
Lance O'Sullivan we wanna be just like you,
This doctor thing is more than just a job,
you live it through and through,
We wanna be like you
We wanna dress like you (dress like you)
We wanna eat just like you (eat like you, yeah)
We wanna even procreate like you (procreate like you!)
Verse 1:
Every morn we see you
Cycling down the street.
Then you sit in clinic,
watching what you eat.
You're a model for your patients,
you just say follow me.
Man we love your healthy living,
doctor cant you see!
Chorus:
Lance O'Sullivan we love you, yea we love you
Lance O'Sullivan we wanna be just like you,
This doctor thing is more than just a job,
you live it through and through,
We wanna be like you
We wanna speak te reo Maori like you (Kia Ora!)
We wanna do ironmans like you (ironmans yeah)
We wanna tackle huge rugby forwards like you (just like you)
Verse 2:
We know you love your culture,
its plain for all to see.
You teach your tamariki
to speak te reo Maori.
With your ironman shoulders,
you carry them along,
and we follow close behind you,
singing this song!
Chorus:
Lance O'Sullivan we love you, yea we love you
Lance O'Sullivan we wanna be just like you,
This doctor thing is more than just a job,
you live it through and through,
we wanna be like
Lance O'Sullivan we love you, yea we love you
Lance O'Sullivan we wanna be just like you,
This doctor thing is more than just a job,
you live it through and through,
We wanna be like you
We wanna be like you
We wanna be like you (like you)
