What the average person does not realize is that today human embryonic stem cells are derived from embryos that were created for IVF and have lethal genetic defects (such as extra chromosomes or trisomy). These embryos can NOT give rise to a live birth. No way, no how. Nonviable. They are not human beings and they have zero chance of becoming human beings. Yet they CAN become hESC lines.
To simply throw these cells away is morally unethical. Use them to better people's lives!

The science doesn't currently work. But with funding in a few years time it could work and if it did it would boast way more cures and treatments for diseases than the adult stem cells. The potential is huge, so huge that it's worth trying even if it doesn't come off. I'd rather see them try and fail than to not try at all.

This is such a ridiculous statement. 120 days, where did that number come from? Everyone knows a spirit enters a body at 72 days. Oh wait, my apologies, its 72 virgins in heaven when you die, meaningless fictional numbers are just so hard to keep track of.

Islam and Jeudaism accepts stem cells. Quran states that spirit is sent to the embrion only 120 days later of its initial creation.
