@aleinatonna Sorry I accidently deleted my last comment. Yeah I agree, a mix of both is definetly a good combination. You know, you've opened my eyes to Flash's possibilities somewhat, whereas before I no interest in flash at all. Good on ya!

@peterlikesthis it depends on the style of the project. With full animation I like to work straight ahead and feel the movement. On Secret of Kells, the approach was totally pose to pose, because it was a style that favored the beauty of the single drawing rather than the fluidness of the action. A mix of both approaches according to the variety of your action is usually preferable.
hey, when you do frame by frame, do you use the bone tool or armature at all? i am just doing flash as a hobby and am trying to figure out the best way to do walk and run cycles. any info is much appreciated! your work looks great!

@haleymariemackenzie hi, I don't use any tool, it's all drawn by hand :)

@haleymariemackenzie A lot of people use flash to make 'puppet' like animaton (e.g moving symbols with tweens etc).. but to be honest, the best stuff is drawn frame by frame, usually 12 or 25 drawings a second. You can see an example on my page.

@peterlikesthis it is my favorite way to animate too. But this one is frame by frame, peter :)

@peterlikesthis Oh yeah I know. Sorry I wasn't implying that your method was anything but frame by frame. I was just explaining it to that guy. You have a very nice style by the way - and I'm not big on vector design. Love the bounce and tail whips.

@peterlikesthis no worries peter, people always ask me whether this animation was made using symbols or frame by frame, the difference can be very subtle and you can do awesome things with symbols too if you can control them. I tend to prefer traditional cause it's just less tiring for my brain ;D
