A.K.A. California Unemployment office.

This video shows how frustrating calling EDD is. I've been trying to get through to an operator for days because my unemployment benefits are 2 months behind.

Video today Jan 19th, 2010 at 11:30am Mountain time.

Just brutal.....

  • WOOOOO HOOOOOO! I just got though to CA EDD and got my claim straightened out!

I used the # combination 1, 3, 0 and it worked on the first try.

    Good Luck!

  • Why do you redial all the time? Arent you supposed to hold the line and wait?

  • They have more callers than they can keep in queue. When the message starts with "Thank you for calling..." it is just going to disconnect your call. "Welcome...." is the message that will allow you to choose a department but often disconnects the caller anyway.

  • A desturbing trend in unemployment , collect for 99 weeks. After which a healthy percentage will apply for disability. Grounds primarily depression b/c not finding jobs . Another burden on tax payers. Proof again Obama policies don't work ! Or do they? Obama has a master plan to create the Matrix. Kill the spirit of of Americans Thin the herd of all who want to work, forced to live off Gov. Therefor creating a socialist Gov. We must rid ourselves of this mad man Obama!

  • It sounds very frustrating.

To the point its on you tube..wow, thats sad. It seems hanging up wont get them to answer but if that recording is the hang up call on their end I understand. The welcome call got no where either. if its a statewide problem it would be much better to make a complaint statewide with all the state reps and push for a state hearing.

  • I see that the system has really broken down over the past year. Now, if they don't hang up on you immediately, after you select 1 for English they will play a minute-long recording about Obama and things that apply to people who are already in the system.

Oddly enough the message just says that if the message applies to you that you don't have to take action.

I'll try the 1, 3, 0 but I'm willing to bet $100 of my overdue benefits that it won't work.

  • @flasher383855

They have closed a great number of the unemployment benefit offices in california, so, there may be nowhere to "go in person."

  • Go in person

  • Dial 1800-300-5616.

dial 1-3-0 as fast as you can, and you will get through...guaranteed...

it will take a few tried but it does work!!

  • I've never been able to get through to them, I've called over 500 times in 1 day, used a land line though so it doesn't eat up my cell minutes.
