29 May 2009. My first flight in France was in Gourdon. After a day of waiting for the wind to die down me and my new French friend had a lovely evening glide down to the landing field. I ran into a tree-top, no harm done to tree or me, flew straight through the branches, to eventually land as a proper pilot should!
I flew Gourdon, Monday the 25th. That landing field did look tricky from the road, with a lot of vegetation in the way - my flying friends told me that a lot of pilots end up roosting in trees. Really glad you cleared that treetop - I once learned from bitter experience that humans aren't very good at perching! I flew out to pass the village and bottom land in the triangular field 6 km away. Much more room! Have posted video of flight from Col de Bleyne - if you're still out there give it a go.

Yeah, I think Ill try and stay clear of treetops from now on.
Had a look at your Col de Bleyne video, Vow! I have two more days here so, maybe :-) although the weather for flying has sortof been crap since Ive been here! But, Ive seen many of the sites and done glides from Gourdon, Sospel and Roquebrune and an hour at St. Andre... so its also been great! :-)

Looks very lovely there. I do hope you know how close you were to serious injury! Please be careful! I know a person who had a brush with a tree like that. He ended up with shattered legs and pelvis. Do have fun..........
