when you do this are your palms supposed to be parallel to the drum head or more perpendicular?

@LearningDrummerSam Could be a force of habit. When I played timpani a lot I found myself trying to mute my snare every now and again.

he is obviously great an all....but why does he put his hand the practice pad in order to mute it when it is making no sound?? or is he doing something else?

for endurance it's not a good exercice,the strokes is so very very strong!!!

i practiced the double stroke roll for months and now that i've got it, my left hand forgot how to play singles... guess i'll have to start again
