Des Taylor from grandeslam fishing at a private Trout pool near Shatterford Lakes on December 5 2009 using the pen pocket rocket pro rod from www.grandeslam.co.uk. The day was sunny and not to cold and Des Taylor fished a mep spnner with a Grandeslam pocket rocket pro pen rod
Des Taylor caught a rainbow trout using the grandeslam pen pocket rocket pro rod on his first cast. The grandeslam pocket rocket pro pen rod has been professionally manufactured in order to give a high quality rod that is capable of landing large fish but in a reliable and fun way the action on this rod gives you that seat of your pants feeling even when you hook in to a skimmer or a double carp., and as you can see from this clip the pen rod can also be deadly when used for spinning for perch, pike or trout.
Des Taylor is one of the worlds most prolific anglers and a leading journalists for publications and broadcast media across the sport of angling. What makes Des unique amongst his peers is his true passion for angling and a genuine love of the sport ,

  • due in stock from the 20th of jan 2010 and it's the reels that have been changed to match the more common rear drag ones found in the uk as we found that the manufacturers tended to supply the rods with US style bait casters and spinning reels that seemed not to cast as smoothly and caused a lot of bird nesting during trials when we developed the rod blanks

  • if you get one lennoxlude try and fish some of the comps that grandeslam are haveing for this product next year ,i am so might see you there!!!!

  • maybe a lake that holds smaller carp i would use it, but if the lake holds specimen size carp, pike, and then the river holds specimen barbel, then theres other rods which are built for those specific fish that would do the job much better, not just for us anglers, but also for the fish.. theres a difference in having fun, and then being stupid. smaller size fish, smaller carp, perch, roach, dace, then this rod is perfect, and i'll happily use it and have some great fun with it. thankyou.

  • your right mate its loads of fun for every type of fishing, but beleive me it will catch big fish!!!!!!! and although great for kids ,you will see loads of anglers with these in the car or tackle bag,its obviouley not a match combo but when you want a bit of fun try catching a decent size carp on it(world record 181b carp!!!!!!!!!!its awsome but thanks for comment, happy new year

  • i wouldn't use this rod for anything other than just fun fishing. what i mean about that is i wouldn't go targetting any fish that can go to any large size such as carp, pike, chub, trout, nothing like that, but i wouldnt mind having one of these taking the kids out fishing with maggots catching roach, dace, fish like that close in. easy to assemble, not of any weight, easy to carry, and seems fun.

  • possibley if your famous and your names des taylor L.O.L

  • he says use a spinner or plug where fisheries allow it?Do shatterford allow you to spin on their trout pools?I didnt think they do!!

  • @themegajosh09 the videos are on the website under videos as ive checked today and apparantley will be for sale in the shops earley 2010

  • because its 20 per cent stronger, and can be usud for ledgering because it has a slightly softer tip
