  • This is much to rough for both the patient and practitioner... The muscles need to be warmed up first and the practitioner is using horrible body mechanics ( bent fingers and thumbs). That much oil should only be used on people with a lot of hair (not a women that shaves her legs) you get no grip into the muscle. Going up the leg is very painful and hurts (that is how you bruise people)! If you go down the leg it is much more comfortable for everyone, but still beneficial.

  • Hi. I'm afraid we disagree with you on every point.

The video does not show an entire shin/calf massage, much of the warming-up (effleurage/petrissage etc) is not included.

Bent thumbs are always recommended when using stripping and trigger pointing techniques to ease the pressure on the joints.

You can't possibly see how much oil is used in the video due to glare and reflection.

Applying pressure down (away from the heart) is never recommended as it may cause damage to veins.

  • @hspannu777 go to a physical therapist! i used to go to pt for this and a good home treatmwnt is to freeze water in a paper cup then rip the paper off and use that to massage your leg

  • @livethechaos13 i have had many injuries in my life as an athlete but shin splints has been the worse not because it is painful but because it is a very annoying and irritating to keep a consistent training routine.

  • im training in thai boxing .. and these shin splints are reallly getting in my way

  • @MrBishopthorpe I also don't understand how you could possibly do effluerage without bending your thumbs.
