On February 5, 2008, Freedom Party's Robert Metz was a panelist on CTS television's "On the Line" with Christine Williams. The topic: poverty. Co-panelist Michael Shapcott advocates wealth redistribution as a "collective value" and Robert responds bluntly and clearly.

  • Shapcott's is a typical socialist mouthpiece. They overwhelm their audiences by quicly moving from one point to another without actually saying anything and always talk over others. The problem with these socialist types is not a lack of intelligence but a lack of conscience. They do not have the spirit to see things in any other way.

  • The capitalist is a poor man's best friend, because he won't punish the poor man for improving his life and becoming wealthier. I loved the "two men on an island" analogy. It's so simple! It was painful to listen to the excrement flowing from Shapcott's mouth. He needs to loosen his bow-tie and let some blood reach his brain.

  • "more input on how to even define poverty"

while my roof is leaking into my bedroom? Someone shoot all these people please...

  • The guy? That woman cannot even read a simple sentence written on paper. What loser gave her a job? And anti-poverty? I'm such a victim of poverty that I can't even cross the street since I can't afford a pair of glasses without which I cannot even read a book with large print!

  • Which one?

  • That guy talks too much and thinks too little.

  • Where does Michael get the idea that Scandinavia is some kind of Shangri-La? Over here, the "poverty advocates" have ALL of the same complaints he has. The strength of the economy here in recent years comes in the wake of sweeping privatisations and modest tax cuts. Does he actually believe what he is saying or is he counting on the ignorance of his audience when he starts talking about the experience in other countries?
