  • 'Science is the means of production/profit", I hope this statement doesn't reduce science to mere social/economic value, because while I agree that applying the knowledge from science has yielded profit from producing goods (microwave, radio, vaccination, anti-biotics, etc.), I don't think the rigorous inductive methods and falsifications can be wholly defined as means of production.

  • @philonous09 absolutely agreed ... just a precautionary warning. There is the possibility however of this happening if left unchecked.

  • @drjasonjcampbell If anything businessmen are what make the discoveries made by scientists a value to people, and profit is just one of the incentives. The only way to make a profit is by pleasing people.. The camera you are using to make this video is a great example, when you bought it the company that devoloped and produced it made a profit, by taking the time and effort to develope a product that people like you wanted. You both benefited , from this, so its not profits over people.
