I am so dumbfounded how this has such an awful up/down ratio.

His voice reminds me of Arthur Russell.

I heard this on a radio station in Maine (where I grew up) while living in Washington, DC (thank God the station has streaming)... they play obscure pieces like this that are a great treasure. I like this song, very artistic and has a nice melody. I don't hear horns in pieces much these days, and Sam did a spectacular job in putting acoustic guitar with horns. I love it, really. Uplifting and is sung almost like a ballad. Songs like this are the moments to stop and smell the roses - great!

One of the most beautiful things about art is when young people make old art new again. Be it Sam Amidon with folk or the many bands in the soul revivalist movement, this is music that inspires.

accidentally running into your music on you tube has inspired me in many ways...thank you!

Naysayers, nobody asked! but anyway, sorry for being so judgemental, but I quite like it, nice and relaxing, background chillout. I like that it's traditional airs. I didn't watch the video much, but it looked interesting enough. Appawently the pwuppets vewy scawy

It's really hard to find a good artist that makes you smile. If I listen to this song while getting ready for school, I'll have this smile on my face ALL day. When there's nothing to smile about, I turn to Sam Amidon. Thank you.
Disturbingly beautiful. I applaud the artist. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

what a sad person jw22345 is. have you asked yourself what the purpose of youtube is? why do you discourage people for sharing their art? yah it may not be appealing to you but are you really that self centered? in a way i pity you, i can't imagine how you where brought up and what kind of environment you grew up on. read your comment once more and reflect on it.
