As professional vintage synth dealers, we buy and sell KPR-77 drum machines from time to time. It's a fun little machine. The pattern write procedure isn't immediately obvious to those who are unfamiliar, so we thought it would be nice to post a video showing how to initialize and write a pattern.
Chris Wareham's posted more complete instructions for pattern and song writing here: http://www.chriswareham.demon.co.uk/kpr77.html Enjoy! Mini. http://www.tonetweakers.com

  • Please record the sound directly to your video cam or at least turn up the volume of the monitors next time. The clicking of the buttons is almost more audible than the actual drum sounds...

  • @Ni5ei sorry but the cam we use hasnt got an audio input.

  • why the gloves? rare machine?

  • @TIPPERBLK i needed a manicure...

  • @User846 why not?

  • I love the KPR-77! It was my first drum machine years ago, and I miss it terribly. Never should have sold it. Ahhh, the memories of playing with it long into the Wisconsin winter night.... ;)

  • Someone told me that Depeche Mode used this machine for the snare drum sound on a lot of the Speak and Spell album. True or false?

That one is in very good condition by the way.

  • Really cool thing, you have here :D

  • can i just ask why do you have gloves ?

  • i love the hihats from this little drummy
