@HawaiianMachinist It might be awhile for the finished product, it's 20 degrees below zero in my shop right now so I won't be playing around out there. We also recieved 22 inches of snow this weekend. Dan

@danfhowe Love to see the finished product...I'm like U, I like makiing stuff...

@HawaiianMachinist Yes, the whole works took about 5 hours, including getting the sides trued up and down by the shaft, this was a very poorly machined gear to start with. thanks for watching. Dan

A lotta turning to get her to finish...looks like like U can only take about 0.002" @ a time...

Good idea thats ace mate and its going to look mighty fine on your engine. If it was a bit hard to turn you could always try annealing it first.

@wackedoutdude Ya, I could have done that. maybe could have thrown it in the fire, I never thought about that. It's done now so no need to any more. Thanks for watching. Dan

Talk about making a silk purse out of a old sow's ear.... the fly wheel looks great! And to think you and a 90 year old SB lathe did it. Congratulation on a fine looking project!

@rlewis1946 Thank you for the very nice comment, the old lathe did a good job on peeling the hard teeth off that old gear. If I do say so myself, the flywheel didn't turn out too bad. Dan
