@joclovesprince92 Evidence?

@joclovesprince92 What kind of god expects me to repent based on a revelation that you personally had? Any god worth worshipping would communicate directly and clearly with everybody in a way that cannot be refuted. Instead, he whispers in the ear of a barely literate YouTuber who is unable to demonstrate that this really happened. (Oh and pssst...the Earth is roughly 4.5bn years old. This we know).

This period probably has the least starvation, disease, and war if anytime
in history. Gloom and doom is a perennial sales pitch of religious leaders
-
The key thing is if you care whether what you believe is true.
-
We should never believe claim on the sole sincerity of the person who says it whenever the claim is lesser likely than the chances of him being wrong (whether he's intentionally lying or has just made a mistake doesn't matter here).
So, I'd be willing to say that you are very sincere, but I cannot believe anyone who said he has had a revelation... and, seriously, alone it's not a proof altogether, so I have no choice but to suppose you are mistaken.
-
Resorting to a revelation is worthless, you understand that? It might convince you who had it, but how do I think we evaluate a claim that we are to believe without questioning it?
Well, we tackle it in a probabilistic manner. What are the odds that this sort of thing happens? I mean, it's a divine intervention of which we have yet no sustainable evidence of; it's more than rare. What the odds that you are either mistaken or lying? Much greater.

This guy was a troll.

Nonsequiter....... I'm going to use that word from now on to sound smart.

@joclovesprince92 I'm listening, my friend. And what I hear is that your loving god will punish me for all eternity if I don't believe he exists.
No dumbass, we have made such an amazing amount of progress it's phenomenal. Has anyone in your family died of a common cold or tooth decay in their late teens, or been executed for trivial things? How many women in your family died while giving birth in a makeshift home? Or have someone hate you and even try to kill you for something you cannot help but be? This is perhaps the most poisoning aspect of religion- it actually WANTS you to believe that progress is impossible. Fuck religion.
