This is the song "Out Here On My Own" karaoke from the musical Fame. Lyrics are on the sides.
Enjoy =)
Lyrics:

Sometimes I wonder where I've been
Who I am
Do I fit in.
Make believin' is hard alone,
Out here on my own

We're always provin' who we are
Always reachin' for the risin' star
To guide me far
And shine me home
Out here on my own

When I'm down and feelin' blue
I close my eyes so I can be with you
Oh, baby, be strong for me
Baby, belong to me
Help me through
Help me need you

Until the morning sun appears
Making light of all my fears
I dry the tears
I've never shown
Out here on my own

When I'm down and feelin' blue
I close my eyes so I can be with you
Oh, baby, be strong for me
Baby, belong to me
Help me through
Help me need you

Sometimes I wonder where I've been
Who I am
Do I fit in
I may not win
But I can't be thrown
Out here on my own
On my own

  • i sang this in finals for our singing competition....and i won...

    tnx to this song....

  • @impactblazers04 Im glad you won

    congrats =)

  • Hey Dramakingjosph , do you also have the piano sheet for this piece? I can just find the piano-solo version :/ greetings

  • @Nackenschelle unfortunately I don't..my best advice is to buy the sheet music online and print it out because its very rare to find a free copy..good luck =)

  • Thanks so much. This really helped - I have to sing this in a show in a couple of weeks.

By the way, I'm female but my character is a boy - and I can't sing this an octave lower - how would i go about making myself sound more masculine in this song?

  • @JarouqueXIII Im glad it helped =)

um I would say try doing vocal warm ups before you sing this but try to warm up doing lower notes...some boys actually don't sound that masculine..some are very high tenors so as long as it sounds like a tenor singing this song you should be fine....than make sure you bring the deep voice out to try to make it more boyish rather than sounding like a female

    hope this helped

    good luck =)
