I don't tune mine and my 12 year old son uses his straight from the pack. I don't think "Stotty" alters his either. Calling technique is very important and we do have a video on this - you cannot just blow in a Double Reed Mallard Call. The call needs to come from the chest and my son grunts the word "Vud" into his call and I tend to growl from my chest bringing the note from the diaghram and using a long vuuuuuud
