Composite and component cables are far too often confused with one-another due in part to their slightly similar name and purpose. LockerGnome's Brandon Wirtz sat down with me recently too break through the confusion and explain exactly how different they really are.

  • chris! do you know about any way to connect a xbox classic that uses the yellow, red and white cable to a PC Monitor? a cheap converter from that to hdmi, or to vga or dvi?

  • @timeXway Hdmi is dvi, but small, so you will get the same image

  • which is better HDMI connection or DVI-D ? from a MAC PRO to LEDs ?

  • component rarely refers to the RGB separation he talks about. 90% of component video today is done using YPbPr (1 luma 2 chroma). please research more before making inaccurate videos

  • @gilosborne15 Thats right...

  • what about s-video what is it

  • @treyatl2006 oh ok then. so you wouldn't use just component, you would have 5 cables connected all together if you were to use it.
