I saw him twice in Seattle also, no effects detected, Michael rarely needed any his playing was so wild - we do miss him, this is my favorite song.
The warm sound is probably ambient and due to the source that captured it - looks analogue.

its not you i've got it aswell... the harmonics, everything the whole sound... I mean when I tune my guitar in this tuning it doesnt sound like that.... but hey different guitar etc. maybe some other factors...?


man i've tried playing this song and its working out pretty well... the only problem being that i can';t get the michael vibe into it.... :( lol

The string stopping is difficult to get a hang of but really makes the counterpoint sound better. Hope you've got the official tab, which lays it out quite nicely...

i have the original version of this tab and i can tell you some techique. Slide, hamonic,snare,bass drum,muted string,strum,flick,slap,and the most important in all of his songs is right-hand string stopping.
