In this clip from "Poisoned Waters," correspondent Hedrick Smith investigates the alarming rate of "fish kills" in the rivers surrounding the Chesapeake Bay—hundreds of fish found floating belly-up—and genetic mutations among marine life in the area: frogs with six legs and other mutations, male amphibians with ovaries and female frogs with male genitalia. More than three decades after the Clean Water Act, two iconic waterways—the great coastal estuaries Puget Sound and the Chesapeake Bay—are in perilous condition. With polluted runoff still flowing in from industry, agriculture, and massive suburban development, scientists fear contamination to the food chain and drinking water for millions of people. A growing list of endangered species is also threatened in both estuaries. As a new president, Congress, and states set new agendas and spending priorities, FRONTLINE correspondent Hedrick Smith examines the rising hazards to human health and the ecosystem, and why it's so hard to keep our waters clean. its starting to seem humans are a virus to the earth. we all the same but all we see is our differences. humans are apart of nature wether we are genetically modified by aliens or if God Made us out of sand. We are all the same and we all live on earth. If we don't take a step back, there will be no steps to go forward to in the future.

US Gov't allows toxic sewage sludge to poison farmlands, food supply & drinking water. 10s of thousands of farms, forests, gardens & lawns are breeding grounds for the plague & the US EPA promotes it & disposes contaminated sewage sludge as fertilizer. Now we have worse, Fukushima is leaking tons of radioactive water directly into the Pacific & atmosphere. Whatever aquatic life manage to escape the Gulf will die elsewhere including their food sources & it's happening all over the world.
