Three movies. One thing in common: Godzilla.
There is GODZILLA ON MONSTER ISLAND (1972), GODZILLA VS MECHA GODZILLA (1974) which is called GODZILLA VS. THE COSMIC MONSTER (because Universal, which owned the rights to THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN and THE BIONIC WOMAN, threatened to sue, so the title was changed from GODZILLA VS. THE BIONIC MONSTER to GODZILLA VS. THE COSMIC MONSTER) and GODZILLA VS. MEGALON (1973).

Cool TV Spot eh?

  • but i never saw this triple bill.. id have shot someone in the knee with an arrow to go see it

  • well.. being old as hell pays off.. i remember when godzilla vs mechagodzilla was being advertised as vs. the bionic monster (75-76).. then it became the cosmic monster when i saw it on tv (probably 79-80) then mechagodzilla when released on video..

  • I keep hearing telepathic waves about sweet complaints, so I deleted...

  • @snakes3425 Actually Godzilla on Monster Island and Godzilla vs. The Cosmic Monster were terribly re-edited versions of the original films. I remember having the Cosmic Monster on VHS a very long time ago.

  • Real titles (they only got Megalon's title right)

Godzilla on Monster Island: Godzilla vs. Gigan

Godzilla vs. the Cosmic Monster: Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla I

  • @timelordthetrain your right!

  • I SOOOOOOOOOOO would have loved to seen this when it came out.

  • Wait! The announcer lied about Godzilla on Monster Island! "The most monster to appear on screen at one time!" No Destroy all Monsters had more and Ghidrah the 3 headed monster had the same amount as Godzilla on Monster Island!

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MattBL

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Godzilla vs Megalon was released by Cinema Shares in 1976. They then released Godzilla on Monster Island and Godzilla vs The Bionic/Cosmic Monster in 1977. So this must have been 1978 after the films finished thier original theatrical runs. They probably gave movie theaters the chance to rerelease them as a 3 for 1 deal.
