Retrieving a halyard from the top of a ~40' mast without climbing or de-masting. Slit 1/2" PVC length wise which was snapped over the back stay with a short piece on a 45 degree coupling and coat hanger hook fashioned and attached to the end for grabbing the halyard. The halyard start to come down on the first try but after a couple more attemps it was successfully brought down to the deck.
