Two 4 month old Bristlenose plec catfish having a battle to decide who's boss.
They fought like this for a good ten minutes, the video captures about the last 3 minutes.
They have dominance battles like this occasionally and although it doesn't seem to hurt them much, if any, their fins do get a bit frayed but soon grow back to normal.

  • i have 2 albinoes like u got in the back there smaller and thats all they do all day looking for stuff in the rocks

  • @TheGrandmastercash Corys make a great clean up crew :O)

  • Haha, I got only one which may be good or bad. Does anybody know approximately how long it takes them to grow to full size?

  • I am not sure exactly, but you can tell whether they are male or female by about 5 or 6 months and they are able to breed at about 12 months old.

I guess they get to about their adult size between 6-12 months old but can probably still grow in size up to about 18 months.

  • lol that was funny, i have 2 bristlenoses, one albino and 1 regular, they havent fough at all.

  • Well, not as far as you know. They may have had battles when you weren't looking and may have already decided who is boss. ;O)

Catfish, as I'm sure we all know are often more active at night than during the day.
