Thomas Mann nannte die Lehmann in einem Brief "Liebe Frau Sonne"! Das trifft's!!!! Welch eine gütige und herzliche Person. Und welch eine wunderbare Künstlerin: Es gibt einen Ausschnitt mit ihr als Straussens Ariadne. So schön und schwungvoll hat das nach ihr keine gesungen.

Well, I am germann and I love this song so much, it reminded me of my Grandfahter how he must have felt when he met and marrfied my grandmother. Well. I decided to write a third verse with a happy ending. Hier it is:

Das ist wirklich ein wunderschöner Vergleich von Thomas Mann. Wenn man die Lehmann so viele Jahre nach ihrem Tod sieht oder auch nur sprechen hört, spürt man immer noch diese GANZ besondere Ausstrahlung..

@pianomags Lehmann was huge on getting her pupils to find their own voice/ originality, in theory anyway. I speculate that she just couldn't resist singing, in this instance.

écouter en fermant les yeux, la première chante joli, mais le professeur nous raconte une vraie histoire , notre temps s'arrète nous entrons de l'autre coté du miroir,elle y entraine son élève qui s'en trouve grandie....n'est-il pas?

I agree, I don't think it was done to humiliate her though and things have moved on in a lot of masterclass workshops... but not in all, regrettably :)

REALLY GOOD.

But bad for masterclass. This is humiliating for the student. Lehmann didn't give any advice- just showed her how to do it. I think she had to make her understand and not make her just copy.
