Full PCL replacement 4 years ago, after living with rupture for 8 years. It just became to painful not to operate. Complete success - no regrets whatsoever. It took a year to heal, but not bad at all. REMEMBER; the knee will not/cannot be as good/strong as before the rupture. There are some limitations in range, particularly squatting on both knees simultaneously. The leg with new PCL is not as muscular as the other leg. No pain associated with knee now.
I hope this helps someone.

Hi dude... i have the same problem rite now.. i tore it up in an accident. my doctor told me it will be somewhere around 6 weeks to see improvement atleast.... now i am 4 weeks away from the accident and i bend my knee to 60 degrees...so cool down pal, u r going to be okay..and the doc said the best way is to go conservative cuz pcl surgery is a bit tricky due to its location....greetings from INDIA...but hey try to be nonweightbearing n always use crutches to walk....

Central... Unfortunately I cant help you at all, but im in the exact same spot, PCL torn 4 weeks ago, had knee immobilized but I got some other brace now so i can bend my knee to 60 degrees.
I cant see how on earth it could heal back, expecially not if im allowed to bend my knee? They want to reassess me in 6 months with regular visits until then to see if it heals by itself.
Take care dude

I fully ruptured my PCL about 5 weeks ago in a snowboarding accident. I've kept my leg immobilized (no bending) since then, and today I saw my doctor again to test it. He wants to see me back in two weeks. I don't see how this ligament can possibly heal itself back together. He said if its still not healed, I will go to surgery. Anyone gone through this? Any tips? Sure would appreciate it. Thanks.
Hi All. Hyper-extended PCL 23 years ago playing rugby. Did not have surgery at all. Although no pain from knee it is unstable and will dislocate easily. When you age and your muscles are weaker it will be a problem unless you sort it out asap after the injury.

@SuperGaross Yea. Definately if surgery is not required, it is important to follow a thorough rehab programme to strangthen the muscles surrounding the joint to help stabilise it. A knee support may be useful to you.
