I cannot even fathom a person aborting their baby, especially in the last trimester. It's just too horrific for me to even contemplate.
-
I understand and truly respect your position. However, as a Catholic educated in moral theology, I must point out that a Catholic must vote to limit evil. The millions of babies that would be killed the unlimited abortion act of Obama is not justified by the thousands who may be saved through an end to the war. Furthermore, Obama does not have any stance to reduce the number of abortions at all.

Not that any of this matters (since dogmatic religions are superstitious rackets to begin with), but I fail to see how voting Republican is anymore of an option.
At least, not on any logical/consistent grounds. Of course, the reason for this inconsistency is (despite what's in the gospels) all "catholics" of the right care about are unborn babies and hating "fags."

@hash4twenty Where did i say that there wasnt a hell? I said you choose hell. That is right in line with free will which is what humans have. Did you vote for Obomb? Hope not b/c if so you must pay the penalty.
-
@vintagevic1 so now theres no hell? your free choices are shrinking everyday. if god knows what choices you will make then you cant make any choice except the one you will make. if this is the case then you have NO free will
-
@hash4twenty you make that choice while youre on earth. You choose your life & perhaps get some things done & miss others: thats life. How you act is all about your will.God doesnt send anyone to hell but people who reject God..well think of it this way...theres no other place for you if you dont want to life with God.
-
@vintagevic1 so your free will is the choice between going to heaven an going to hell?
-
@hash4twenty you still chose your life before you were born. It ouwldnt be free will if God kicked you out of heaven down to earth.
-
@vintagevic1 god by definition is an all knowing omnipotent being. So if you have already chosen your path before birth then god would also know your path. this makes you life predetermined. sounds like you dont have as much free will as you thought
-
@hash4twenty God allows things to happen to people b/c it is my belief that we arent puppets of god. We have freedom & free will.In that free will we make choices: for better or for worse. You make the decision & you live with it.
My view is that you choose your life before your incarnation. Isiah says:" before you were born in the womb I knew you."Knew" is not one sided. If God knew you before you were born you also knew God.So when bad happens you have to see it through b/c you chose this life.
-
@vintagevic1 so your argument goes like this. abortion is wrong because the fetus did nothing to deserve it. If so tell me this, why does god allow children to get cancer and die of starvation, were they bad children?
-
@henrydaniell Vote conservative on November 2nd, it's a start. It will be a long fight I'm afraid, but there's nowhere else to go.
