  • Chef Keith--do not refer this adaption to Shepard's Pie. It is so far away from a true Shepard's Pie it is an insult. I am an American who grew up in England and know the original. To top it all you added cheddar cheese. Yikes!!!!

  • like I said..it's my spin on , I know perfectly what the classic recipe is...and I know this is a HUGE change...but this recipe is good, and many, many people who dont eat beef or lamb..love it..

    thanks for commenting

    Keith

  • I do have to agree that it is a great change from the original. thank you for the more healthy version Chef Keith. P.S. I just can't do the grits part, but everything else looks great.

  • I'll have to admit..potatoes were better in it ...I like the grits..but creamy mashers rock...

    thanks

    Keith

  • call it turkey pie

  • if your using beef then you should be calling this cottage pie not shepherds pie, shepherds pie contains LAMB and not BEEF. Dont understand why people always confuse it

  • Thanksgiving pie?

  • confucius says................................ SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx dickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk~~~!!!!!!!

  • No veggies????

  • Kieth the biggest departure is not the substitute of grits for mashed potato but the substitution of turkey for lamb. I too substitute things in my sheperds pie. I use cream cheese, lemons, raisins and crumbled biscuits. Some people I believe call it a cheesecake much like some people would call your sheperds pie a turkey pie.

  • I understand that this is a "healthier" version of Shepherd's Pie, but it's so different I don't think I could bring myself to eat it.

  • If people would get up and move, they wouldn't be looking for a so called healthy alternative. That's not really healthy if you consider that potatoes have much more nutrition that grits, without anymore calories. Add butter to the potatoes instead of cheese and a little milk, to make mashed potatoes. Take the rest of the ingredients and throw them in the garbage, get a spoon, and eat the potatoes. Unless you've been raised on grits like I have you'll gag. Especially those grits.

  • THIS IS BULLSHIT. IT'S NOT SHEPHERD'S PIE. IT'S STUPID PIE. GOD KEITH SNOW YOU'RE A RETARD.

  • not enough grits.
