June 18, 2010 on Perdido Key, FL

It's a windy day on Perdido Key today, June 18th, but the water and beach are beautiful. This clip was taken off Perdido Key Drive, across from the Perdido Key Chamber, this afternoon. Today, the Escambia County Health Dept. rescinded the health advisory that was issued on June 8th, for the Fla.-Ala. line to the entrance of the Perdido Unit, Gulf Islands National Seashore. Government officials verified there is no oil sheen or oil slick observed in the water from the high water mark out to 100 yards from shore. Officials recommend that beachgoers avoid contact with tar balls that are showing up sporadically.
