Cait talks about her top 5 tips for singers.
Yes, I talk a lot. Trust me, this could have been MUCH longer. The first take was a half hour.
These are just the very basics, and questions ask in the comments or send me a message at:

The warm up song is by Three of a Kind (you can get a whole series of them on iTunes) that's #16 on the Pop Vocal Warm up Vol. 1 :)
is it true professional singers cant really have a six pack because of the way they breathe x) ?

Oddly enough, I've -always- breathed with my stomach/diaphragm.

Aw man, that idea about the carry on song sounds sweet!
It would be awesome if it ended up like Bohemien Rhapsody with different parts :P

haha yeah, I totally breathe from my Diaphragm instinctively now... it actually feels strange when I don't.

I think it really just depends on the person. Acids can be bad if you have acid reflux. I can't have anything sugary before I sing, it dries my throat out. Honestly water and vocal rest are the best, but if you're in a pinch, the lemon works. :)

When you said: "That's all I really had to cover with you today," I expected you to say "My name is Caitlyn Sky, and you've just been philled in."
This video was very helpful~ I don't play any instruments, but I would like my vocals to be less shitty for when I randomly burst into song. x]

Great video! Most of the tips are spot on; breathing low and relaxed, keeping your jaw relaxed, shooting your sound up and over (some teachers say "through your cheekbones" or "through the top of your head"-any visualization that helps you to sing with your soft palate raised)
I would recommend against lemon juice, however. It is only a short term fix. Acids are bad for for long term vocal health-including lemon, tea, softdrinks, etc. Water and/or sugar (honey/lozenges) are good for hydration.

Oh nice video :) I've only seen you sing a couple of times on blogTV, you have an awesome voice though. Caitlin ftw :D
