Basically I recorded a 4/4 beat with a simple snare fill every 4 measures and a crash on every 8 for the A-part. There's sort of a beat change thing going on in the B-part (inspired by old weezer songs, heh heh).

Then there is a simple bassline (root notes with a few passing notes in the key of D), and three tracks of guitar.

Track 1 - barre chords of the basic root triads (Em-G-D-Bm) with a lot of distortion on the amp.

Track 2 - a clean electric guitar channel of the chords played by PGrizzlie.

Track 3 - a lead melody with moderate distortion in the key of D major that emphasizes the higher octave parts of the harmony (i.e. the notes F# and E).

The little nostalgic C part, I simply played the lead melody over root triads on a small 1980s Casio keyboard (a Casiotone MT100).

Anyway, if that sounds complicated just watch the video and listen to it. It's all pretty simple. And could be played by a 4 to 5 member band with 1 drummer, 1 bassist, 2 to 3 guitarists. If you still don't get how to play this all yourself, drop me a message. If it needs fixing or rearranging, let me know. Nothing is set in stone here.

  • your arrogance talking to rivers doesnt work for me. not too sure whether he cares for your little joke about what your doing when your not fighting crime. aslong as you felt it was worth it though i guess.

    Well done though!

  • haha, have you ever seen another YouTube video? I think I was just trying to fit in...

Furthermore, it kinda takes an arrogant person (like me) to like play all the instruments themselves (despite an inconsistent skill level between each instrument) and then make a music video of it all (despite only having a really basic camcorder and iMovie).

Anyway, thanks for checking it out and i hope the music at least compensated a little for my arrogance.

  • it isn't a competition

  • my bad.

  • Cool guitar

  • thanks, it's a 1990s re-issue of the '52 Danelectro U2 in Daddy-O Yellow.

  • Very good man! really liked it!

  • you show passion for defo. Lets face it, we like weezer, the similarities between ourselves, which could well possibly end there is enough for me to have complete respect for your efforts and what you were going for.

    respect

  • The ending needs work, but I like it. Good job!

  • sounds great

it can be even better with a counter melody, some harmonies, and a bit more complex bass part
