  • when you say crazy tempo, what do you mean. like a really high tempo?

  • @pb0o6 I mean a constantly changing tempo with both very high and low tempos. It has little to do with the tempo of the song and everything to do with the distance between each beat.

  • Hey Drew,

Great tutorial! I have one quick question I hope you'll be able to help me with.

When the tepmo is changes to the "crazy tempo", it changes it in between each bar as well, so each bar has it's own "crazy tempo".

When I cut the drum group, it cuts each bar to the length of the 1st bar as opposed to the length of each bar individually, making the cuts NOT on the transients where the midi notes are.

    Any suggestions?

  • shouldn't be different for each bar. what note are you quantizing to? 16th? if so don't cut on the first beat of the first bar, cut on the first 16th grid line of the first bar.

  • Drew,

Thanks so much for the videos! This is the stuff that the manual does not make clear! One question: I cannot seem to find the "Beats from region" function ? How do you access that? I could not find it as a menu option or a key command. Thanks!

  • 1. option cut looks at how long the region to the left of the cut is, and makes cuts at that length for the rest of the region. Make sure you cut at the top of bar 1 before you proceed.

    2. there was a work around for this, but it has since been "fixed" by apple in an update.

  • just hit esc in any window and it will pull up your list of tools.

  • hey drew, im wondering how you use the scissor tool. it looks like your clicking on one of the tracks and bringing up a menu from which you select the tool. im having trouble finding that.

  • Thanks for these Drew, very helpful. Got two questions

    1. Option cut isn't actually cutting to each quarter note for me, is there a preference somewhere for this? It looks like it's cutting eight bars or something.

    2. With the marquee tool method, it's really slow to find transients and finds loads of them with all drums selected. Is there a way to just use say kik and snare to find the transients then cut all the tracks?

    thanks in advance man
