This is a machine that turns blocks of wood into actual charcoal, not ash. It productively uses scrap wood, a renewable resource, to heat cut wood blocks. The blocks produce a gas, known as wood gas, which is burned in the firebox and consumed. As you can see in the video, it produces very little smoke while running.

  • @jjhall68 depends on the size the pieces of wood are cut and how full it is. I like to run it for around 3 hours.

  • Great info. Do you have a website where you talk more about how to build this thing? It seems a little more self running than tring to use 55 gal drums.
