lol, they get so intense when it comes to food. my weim did the same thing, except he was slightly less well-behaved. he would get pretty close while i ate, and i didn't stop him because i couldn't resist giving him a bite or two of whatever i was having.
i didn't see any reason not to anyway, why should he miss out on the good stuff? go eat a bowl of dog food and see what you think.

Our Weim Baby we had for 15 years passed away in January. Irma looks just like her. They are so lovely.The way Baby begged was to stare at you and put her paw up. They are very effective beggars. I miss my girl! Hug your Wiems for me today!

My weim, Buddy, used to always get within a certain distance of me while I was eating - not too close, yet not very far away - just close enough that I could see him drool with feigned desperation. I miss the little bastard.

@GreyMirror That's how all weims look at things: silently measuring their targets with inscrutable intent; although usually, they're just pondering how to gain either food, love, attention, or all-the-above from any given situation.
