And welcome to the madness that is/will be Lets Play Advance Wars!
So yeah, this is my new LP, an LP of the Game Boy Advance classic war game Advance Wars. This LP will basically feature all of the battles from the main campaign, and Im sure I will show off a few other extras as well.
To start off, in these first 13 videos.we will be going through the Field Training. As I state in the video, I have a good reason for doing the Field Training even though it is technically not necessary, yet could be considered part of the story (plus it has the perks of me not having to show-off every single part of the game at once. Field Training will be a nice buffer.
However, if you would rather not watch me go through the Field Training videos, here is a link to the first video of Campaign Mode.

Im not sure how long the main campaign will take. As I am sure I have statedover a bajillion times now, once I get into Campaign Mode, this project will be updated every 4 days, and each update will be one mission from campaign mode. I figure these missions will not take me more than a video to do, but if they do take longer, I will upload other videos as well until Im finished with the mission, so there are possibilities for multiple uploads, but it may not be as many as I have rumored in the past.
For those wondering about War Room, I currently do not have any plans to do that mode. However, I may change my mind in the future, if I start to really get into this project. War Room is basically a scenario mode where you get to fight specific game COs in certain maps, usually ones they have the advantage in. Whenever you win, you get a score based on how well you did and you can keep trying to beat that score in future attempts until you get the perfect score. There arent really any awards for doing this though, more just a way to practice your skills and get some coins for the games shop (well discuss this later).
I should also mention that this video and the next 3 are done in post-commentary. I wasnt quite sure if I could handle live commentary in these videos, so I went ahead and did post-commentary. Then, when I moved on to Video #5, I decided I would give it a try and sure enough, it sounded a lot better than I figured it would, so for the project Im going to try and do live commentary, but those first 4 videos are not live.
Anyways, I think that takes care of all the beginning video description stuff, so I would finally like to say, Welcome To Advance Wars! I hope you enjoy the project, but I completely understand if you dont, because this game genre isnt exactly the best for LPing. Just keep in mind that this is something I WANT to do, but I wouldnt be surprised if there are mixed reviews.
Anyways, In this video, I go over Mission #1 in Field Training, and part of Mission #2.
(Wow, explaining everything took one page in Microsoft Word, and then when I get to the progress statement for this video, its only one line X_X)
woah, excuse me I'm noone to doubt the man himself, but how is fire emblem a strategy game? Advance wars is described as a 'turn based war simulation tactics game' and fire emblem is a 'fantasy rpg with turnbased battlesequences'. just sayin'

@paddyrapp
Strategy is just as much involved in Fire Emblem than it is in this game. You have to plan your moves, attack the right units with your own units, and so forth. It's more strategy than RPG by far.

Hey Slim do you plan on doing the "Rivals!" mission? It would be really cool if you did.
Nice LP btw.

Don't let what I do influence your decision. I mean, it's not like this is the only LP of the game. Not doing a game because someone else is doing it (or has done it) is a stupid excuse to never do it. It can be a sensible excuse, but in the long run, it should have no relevance.
