How to Scream, Screamo Scream, Scream Sing, Part 1

Many metal,Screamo bands or even hardcore bands today have a lead vocalist who doesn't just sing. Scream sing is a new instrument developed for the stage that is starting to catch on as a trend. Learning how to scream or screamo scream is a bit more difficult than singing, however. True screamo scream or scream sing is bad for your instrument (your vocal apparatus) so follow this advice how to scream & avoid damaging your throat while learning how to scream like your favorite hardcore bands. Keep in mind that yelling at the top of your lungs is incorrect and you WILL ruin your vocal cords. The bands you hear do not really scream. It's an effect within their vocal cords that anyone can learn.

Dude, some of your advice isn't that good... "You've gotta be willing to sacrifice your voice."

No you don't. If you scream or growl properly you won't destroy it and you'll keep a normal voice. Just look at Byron from God Forbid, he has no problems with his voice at all. If you scream or growl (fuck pig squeals) by using your diaphragm (as if you were singing opera or normal clean vocals) and don't drink excessively or smoke, you will keep your normal voice without ever damaging it.
