Stills and Tork were singing at the same coffee shops before they did well.

I believe that Stills tried out for "The Monkees" and suggested Tork instead of himself (Who must have been an absolute mess!)... and he and Nesmith would have killed each other. Absolutely, no doubt. Stills wound up with Neil Young instead... who would walk away rather than put your head inside a wall!

Tork got Mike and the boys... and NEVER fought with Mike!

I wonder why?

Mickey did pick up Jimi to tour with them!

I always thought that he seems almost apologetic here, like The Monkees were a joke...but you have to remember, Peter was good friends with almost all of these musicians. Certainly Buffalo Springfield, but also The Byrds and The Mamas and Papas (he was a very good friend of Mama Cass). He had every right to be there. There's also footage somewhere of Micky at the Festival, too.
