  • The whole work is like this - the barely perceivable transition between recitative and aria. Peri was one of the first composers of the new form of Opera. I love the instrumentation and the presentation.

  • @Samoriah I am very hesitant to speak of recit or aria when it comes to opera in its infancy.

    The opera uses very little instrumentation. What might sound like a recitative is actually an aria.
