ok . . I'm not a mechanic or anything - but if you needed Front Access (to the hood area) couldn't you have just put the Van in Neutral and pushed it back down the driveway til it reached where your *Jumper Car* was? (I used to sneak out at night when I first got my license without being heard that way!)
