Caledonian Society of Alabama President and Chairman of the evening Paul Franklin delivers the famous "Address to a Haggis" by the Immortal Bard Robbie Burns.
Haggis is traditionally served as the main course of the Burns Night Supper. During Burns's lifetime haggis was a popular dish for the poor. It was very cheap to make, being made from leftover, otherwise discarded parts of a sheep.
This video also includes the Alabama Scots participation in the "Largest Worldwide Toast" to Robert Burns, a project conceived by Julie Deans and Steve Higson of Scottish Gemini. For more information or to participate in the Worldwide Toast, please visit www.worldwidetoasttorobertburns.com.
