This is a structuralist video. The footage is an interview shot with the help of my friend Alana. The edit is to mimic the pattern in a tree's growth. However, it should be the opposite. The edit represents a tree with a direct ratio between years and distance between rings while the photograph shows and indirect ratio. In the tail title, I say 'inverse'. This is for no reason. This is also fairly boring.

  • Good idea. Would have liked to see it developed more.

  • thanks! yeah, i'd like to make a version of this for an installation where there are several "trees" but the sound is staggered so it makes a kind of 'doppler effect forest' i guess.
